I would have gone into trauma if I had watched the tribunal judgement, Buhari says

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his delight with the ruling of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal which upheld his victory as the winner of the 2019 presidential election.

According to the president, Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which coincided with the day of the tribunal judgement, provided him an opportunity to douse the tension generated by the ruling.

The president, who made the disclosure yesterday at the State House, Abuja while receiving the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors and the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, said he would have gone into trauma if he had watched the judgment of the tribunal.

He said, “On this judgement, again it was a fabulous coincidence that it came almost the same time the first Federal Executive Council meeting of this government was taking place.

“It lasted about the same time with the judgement. I thank God for that because I think I would have gone into trauma or something.”

President Buhari thanked the party stalwarts for felicitating with him while urging them to institutionalize the APC.

“So, thank you very much for sharing the glory with us. What I will say to you the chairman of the party and the governors is that we make sure that we really institutionalize the party, so that when we leave the stage the party will continue to lead,” the president said.

In his response, the APC national chairman, Oshiomhole maintained that members of the party had no doubt that the president would emerge victorious at the tribunal.

He said, “We never had doubts that you won your votes. All the issues raised by our opponents were trashed out one after the other by the Justices that sat on the panel.”
