I’ll appoint young people as commissioners so I can shout at them – Gov Ayade

Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade has declared he will no longer appoint older people into his cabinet.

The governor who turned 52 last March, explained that it was not in his nature to talk harshly to his elders, which made him unable to scold older members of his cabinet in his first term.

He said, “I am looking for younger people to appoint into my government. I will no longer appoint older people. I need younger people so that I can shout at them in order to fast track my government.”

Governor Ayade revealed that the state will be having a younger secretary to the state government who will replace the outgoing secretary, Tina Agbor who is much older than the governor.

Interestingly, the Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Ivara Esu, was Governor Ayade’s former lecturer.

He further stated, “I want to work with a cabinet dominated by young technocrats I can be able to talk to and keep them on their toes.”
