In recognition of the harsh economic realities befallen the state, the incoming Kwara State Governor Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has opted for a modest inauguration on May 29.

Reeling out the schedule of events, the Chairman of the Inauguration Committee Senator Suleiman Ajadi, disclosed that there will be a swearing-in ceremony at the Government House, followed by the Thanksgiving Prayer at the same instant at the Central Mosque, Ilorin, and Church Service at 11:00am of the same day.

Senator Ajadi further explained that as a result of the forthcoming commemoration of Democracy Day on June 12 and some accompanying events, the incoming government had to adopt an austerity measure in planning for the May 29 swearing-in, in reflection of the state’s lean resources.

The committee chairman also revealed that the incoming governor will meet with key stakeholders in the state.

“The governor will meet with representatives of the civil servants and also, separately, confer with the Kwara State Traditional Council led by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.”
