Former president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has ordered the arrest of two of his in-laws and others reported to be family members for allegedly breaking into his Otuoke residence to cart away jewelries and other valuables worth millions of naira.

Two of the suspects, Mowsor Princewill Oba and Boma Rasheed Oba, who have been arrested by the Operation Puff Adder of the Bayelsa State Police Command, were identified as brothers of the former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.

According to reports, one of the arrested suspects, who is a management staff of the Aridolf Resort, Hotel and Spa owned by the former first lady, duplicated the keys to the rooms where the valuables were kept and facilitated the forceful entry, looting the items in the process.

Acting on a tip-off, the former president hurriedly called in men of the Bayelsa Police Command to effect their arrest and recover the looted valuables.

Sources close to the family revealed that Mrs Jonathan, who was displeased with the incident, berated her brothers for looting her husband’s valuables when they would have stolen her money instead.

The sources also confirmed that the police has recovered some of the stolen items from the suspects who confessed to the crime and have shown signs of remorse.
