A Kwara-based sociopolitical group, O2 Liberation Movement has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for ceding two ministerial slots to the state.
According to the group, the President’s gesture was a demonstration of his respect and gratitude for Kwarans who had overwhelmingly supported him over the years, as was reflected in the outcome of the last general elections.
In a statement signed by the chairman of the group, Alh. Hassan Owoyale, and made available to the press through the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Bolaji Aladie, the O2 Liberation Movement described the nomination of Alhaji Lai Muhammed and Senator Ruqayyah Gbemisola Saraki as well-thought-out by the President.
The group wished the nominees a successful screening, while expressing optimism that their time in office will enhance rapid progress in Kwara.
The sociopolitical group also pledged its unflinching support to President Buhari as he explores his quest to take Nigeria to the next level.
The statement reads: “There is no better thing to repay kindness except goodness. Ceding two ministerial slots to Kwara by the president demonstrated the gratitude and respect he has for Kwara State considering our overwhelming supports for him from years back not to speak about the last general elections.
“We feel grateful to him for repaying our kind gestures with goodness and we hope for more as we are pledging to him our unflinching supports in his quest to take Nigeria to the next level.
“We also seize this medium to felicitate with Sen. Ruqayyah Gbemisola Saraki and Alh. Lai Mohammad over their nominations. Their efforts, steadfastness and commitment to Buhari project, APC Next Level agenda and Kwara Liberation struggle bring forth these blessings not only upon them but the entire State. Our believe is that, they will justify the confidence reposed in them whilst work harmoniously with the government at the National and State level towards provision of good governance to our people.
“While we wish them a successful screening, we pray that their eventual time in office will bring forth rapid progress to Kwara and Nigeria as a whole.”
