The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has taken disciplinary action against 175 students, resulting in their expulsion from the institution. The students were found guilty of various offenses.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the acting Director of University Relations, the expulsion of the students was approved following the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC). The SDC held thorough investigations and sittings from October 2021 to March 2024, leading to the university’s decision to expel the students.
The students who faced expulsion were found guilty of various serious offenses, including cheating on exams, theft, submitting falsified academic credentials, physical assault, fraudulent activities, membership in unauthorized groups, and possession of weapons on campus, as stated in the university’s official statement.
