The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan has rescinded on his decision to appoint Mr. Festus Adedayo as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, just 48 hours after his appointment.
Lawan, in a statement released this afternoon by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Mohammed Isa, disclosed that the decision was taken in his best interest.
The statement read in part, “The office of the President of the Senate has reviewed the appointment of Mr. Festus Adedayo as Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President of the Senate and decided to rescind its decision on the appointment, and wishes Mr. Adedayo the best in his future endeavours.”
Recall that a group of aggrieved APC faithfuls under the aegis of APC Stakeholders Forum had earlier berated the decision of the Senate President to appoint Mr. Festus Adedayo as media adviser.
According to the group, Adedayo, who is a known critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, had severally insulted and maligned the integrity of the office of the President, hence, his appointment as media adviser to the Senate President was a sign of betrayal to the party.
