As the new government of Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazak is today inaugurated in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, a frontline APC chieftain in the state and chairman of SOBI FM, Mallam Luqman Mustapha has requests Kwarans to support the new government and guide jealously the newly won freedom it represents.

In a statement earlier today, Luqman, who is also the founder and captain of the Kwara Rebirth Ambassadors (KRA), felicitates with Kwara indigenes for championing the struggle that eventually culminates in the victory of the new governor and other APC candidates at the polls.

“It is incumbent on all stakeholders, especially the electorates to partner the government towards ensuring campaign promises are kept and the government never derails,” a part of the statement reads.

While enjoying all elected and the would-be appointees of government to be aware of the high expectations of Kwara electorate who, he said, have endured bad governance over the years; the former APC governorship aspirant also called on the new government to “strive to justify the aptness of the unanimous decision of the electorates to stand by the APC at the last elections.”

“I heartily congratulate and felicitate with every Kwaran out there, who jettisoned personal aggrandizement for the progress, redemption, development, and above all, absolute sociopolitical and economic Rebirth of Kwara state.

“As a people, regardless of our status, it is a common stigma on us that we revolted against and successfully, we have collectively undone the historical stigma of underdevelopment, imposed low self esteem, misrule and political ineptitude. We have shown the world that our destiny is right in our hands and our resolution to be in charge of it is unnegotiable,” the statement added.

Mallam Luqman, who reminded all elected officials that himself and other party leaders have vouched for them before Kwara people, expressed the hope that the new government would not disappoint them. He therefore beseeched “all elected officials to always reflect on the moments of romance between Kwarans and today’s ‘political persona non grata’, as a guide to the kind of reputation their decisions, actions and inactions as public officials may earn them.”

“I congratulate the true heroes of our local democracy, the good people of Kwara state, His Excellencies President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the duo of the Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of Kwara state, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Kayode Alabi, all elected Kwara Senators, House of Representative and State Assembly Members. I wish you all the very best as you proceed to serve,” the statement concluded.
