Oghenemaro Emeofa aka Mad Melon, one half of the famous Danfo Driver duo is dead.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by his management, the popular singer was said to have died on Wednesday night in a hospital in the Ajegunle area of Lagos after battling an undisclosed ailment.
A part of the statement said, “The Management of Mad Melon and Mountain Black aka Danfo Driver wishes to announce to the general public the passing on to glory of Oghenemaro Henry Azubuike Emeofa aka Mad Melon which sad event took place last night.
“A mighty Iroko and a true legend has fallen. May God grant his family, groupmate (Mountain Black) well-wishers and friends the fortitude to bear the loss. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
Reacting to the singer’s demise, veteran artiste, Daddy Showkey who took to his Instagram page said he was deeply pained by the news.
He wrote, “What kind of sad news is this?
“Oh my God, we just lost somebody.
“I just heard about it now. I’m not happy at all, I’m not happy.
“When dem go dey tell people make dem dey hear, make dem dey hear.”
