The Nigerian Army has refuted viral reports claiming Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has been replaced with Major General Lamidi Adeosun as the new Chief of Army Staff.
The army, through its Acting Public Relations Officer, Sagir Musa, described the reports as false.
Musa further disclosed that Major Adeosun was only promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
“He was just promoted to Lieutenant General. He was promoted because of his exemplary feat in the North East counter insurgency operation and other leadership effects”, he said.
