The organizers of Nigerian Models Parade, through its NMP Empowerment Scheme has finetuned plans to train 3,000 models on how to use the social media to enhance growth in their modeling careers.
According to NMP’s evaluation, the demography of models in Nigeria, comprising of both professional, upcoming and aspiring ones, boasts of an industry of over two million models.
Emphasizing on the limitless opportunities the social media offers to this vast population of fashionistas, the convener of Nigerian Models Parade, Mr Emmanuel Amuwo, stated that:
“An average model has between 5-10 thousand followers, while some have much more. There is a need for these models to know how to leverage on their influence to further enhance their personal growth.”
Mr Amuwo also disclosed details of the social media training.
“NMP organizers will be having three batches of training with one thousand models in each.
“We will be having seasoned facilitators to take up the three batches, as it will be our desire to see the modeling industry expand, creating an avenue for models to take their rightful place and enjoy dividends of their labor.
“We therefore implore selected models that will be participating to embrace this golden opportunity. The training will be free and models are not to pay for anything”, he said.
The convener, further reiterated that the Nigerian Models Parade event is designed to not only rebrand the modeling industry, but to also equip the models with the right information they need for self-growth, which will attract more opportunities to them.
He added that, “the modeling industry is one that should be given serious attention in other to maximize its potential.”
