Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has strongly denied owning any of the properties sealed by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel (SPIP).
The lawmaker who made the disclosure yesterday on a TV programme in Abuja, however admitted ownership of the frozen accounts by the panel.
He challenged the SPIP to reveal to Nigerians how much they found in his accounts, so the people could decide if the money is too big for a senator to own.
He said, “None of the properties sealed or which they have a forfeiture order is my properties. I have said that before and I am saying it again that they are not my properties.
“I don’t own a property in Warri, I don’t own a property in Lagos. I don’t own a property in Maitama, Abuja and all these accounts.
“I challenge SPIP to publish what is in all these accounts for Nigerians to see how much I own and whether the money in these accounts is too big for a senator.”
The SPIP had earlier sealed houses, filling stations, residential buildings and other properties located in Warri, Asaba, Lagos, and Abuja, allegedly traced to him.
