Security operatives stationed at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin today, paralyzed sporting activities at the facility, leaving many athletes stranded.
According to reports, heavily-armed policemen stormed the facility in the early hours of Monday, after intelligence reports hinted that the #RevolutionNow protesters had planned converging at the complex for a nationwide demonstration which kicked off today.
Some athletes who had arrived at the stadium for their usual morning training were refused entrance by the police men.
Recall that the Coalition of Revolution (CORE), the initiators of the #RevolutionNow protest, had earlier vowed to defy the Federal Government’s restriction of its planned nationwide procession.
