Saraki Expresses Sadness Over the Passing of Daudu Ballah

***Commiserates with the royal family, Emir of Ilorin

President of the 8th Nigerian Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Wednesday expressed deep sadness over the passing of the Duadu Bala of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Salman Olarongbe Abdulkadir.

In a statement by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki described the death of the elder statesman as a colossal loss to the Ilorin Emirate, and people of Kwara State.

He stated that the contributions of the deceased to the development of Ilorin in particular, and Kwara state in general cannot be quantified.

Saraki stated: “Alhaji Salman Olarongbe Abdulkadir, was an elder stateman and community leader who was a complete gentleman. He was always ready to give up what is dear to him so long as such sacrificial gesture would contribute to the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of the people in his immediate domain and that of Ilorin Emirate.

“He was an educationist par excellence who used his knowledge and wealth of experience to enrich the upcoming generation as a former Principal Government Teacher’s college Dogondaji, Sokoto state, 1973 to 1976 and later retired in the Ministry of Education, Sokoto State.

“His achievements marked him out for higher offices among which was his appointment as the Daudu Balla town by the Emir of Ilorin – a position he held till his last breath.

The Senate President commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased, the Emir of Ilorin and the Ilorin Emirate’s traditional council and the entire Ilorin Emirate over the sad loss.

He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the late Daudu Balla of Ilorin Emirate Alijanah Fidaus, and his immediate family and loved once the grace to bear the irreparable loss.
