The Senate has announced the confirmation of Justice Tanko Muhammad as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan made the announcement at plenary today, few minutes after the screening exercise.
Justice Mohammad who arrived at the National Assembly at 10.10 a.m. was screened at 11.13 a.m.
Recall that President Mohammadu Buhari had earlier sent a letter requesting the screening and confirmation of Tanko Muhammad on July 11.
