Shagaya Foundation moves to empower 800 widows, petty traders

The Salman Shagaya Foundation, will on Saturday, September 28, 2019 hold its quarterly Relief Money Scheme which will witness massive empowerment of indigents across the state.

Recall that the Foundation led by Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya had recently increased the number of beneficiaries from 500 to 800 people.

According to a statement issued by the foundation’s spokesperson, Mr. Ibraheem Abdullateef, the empowerment scheme targets only petty traders, market women, the widowed, the aged, artisans and other needy bodies.

The statement added that the empowerment grants were non-refundable, as its aim was to create self-sufficiency among Kwarans through providing them capital for small scale businesses.

“We are glad to announce to the general public that our inimitable Foundation, under the able leadership of Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, is set to hold her quarterly Relief Money Scheme on Saturday 28th of September, 2019 at LGEA Primary School Oke – Apomu, Ilorin.

“The upcoming event shall be the 15th time we have provided such financial lift to at least over 500 people with the sum of #10,000 business money. Remarkably, there is an increase in the numbers to unprecedented 800 due to public demands.

“Our beneficiaries remain petty traders, market women, the widowed, the aged, artisans and other needy bodies.

“It is our hope that we could improve self- sufficiency amongst our people through small scale business by providing them non- refundable capital”, Abdullateef said.

The foundation pledged to remain committed to its quest of providing aids to the people of Kwara, adding that invited guests and prospective attendants are assured of adequate security on Saturday.
