The 2019 Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award (NMNA) which held on Sunday, at the Airport Hotel, Lagos, witnessed big wins for SOBI 101.9 FM Ilorin.
The station’s Head of Programmes, Jolaoluwa Afolabi set the ball rolling as he wriggled out of a star-studded category to emerge the 2019 On Air Personality (OAP) of the year.
The category comprised veteran broadcaster, Dan Foster of Inspiration FM, and other prominent nominees which include, Tolu Oniru (Tools) of Beat FM, Omotunde Davids (Lolo) of Wazobia FM, Godwin Arowayo (Naija FM) and Anita Isede (Rhythm FM).
Ensuring a memorable night for Kwara state, SOBI 101.9 FM clinched the best radio station of the year (North-Central region).
Some other winners, include: Seun Okinbaloye (Channels TV) – On Air Personality of the year (Television), Rita Okoye (Sun Newspaper) – Entertainment reporter of the year, Folake Sokoya – Crime reporter of the year, among others.
The event was well attended by top media personalities and dignitaries, including presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, and a former media aide to ex-Gov. Rauf Aregbesola, Semiu Okanlawon.
