Takeaways from the June 27 Nigerian Models Parade Briefing

By Nimi Princewill.

Vendors and food sellers were the first beneficiaries to relish the success of the Nigerian Models Parade Briefing which held on June 27, 2019, as they enjoyed massive patronage from hundreds of excited models who turned up for the event.

Interestingly, a fresh batch of over two hundred models expressed interest in the 2019 Nigerian Models Parade but sadly, the event scheduled to hold later in the year has been strictly designed to accommodate only a thousand models.

The convener, Emmanuel Amuwo who spoke at the briefing, appreciated the NMP team members whom he dedicated the success of the briefing to, while also encouraging them to understand that the real work had just begun.

Mr. Emmanuel Amuwo, Convener, Nigerian Models Parade

He lauded their commitment since the audition commenced in March, noting that the event will not just create relevance for Nigerian/ African models but will also lead to expansion and growth of the industry.

Mr Amuwo further hinted that following the influx of models from different states billed to grace this year’s Nigerian Models Parade, the event was obviously the most anticipated, as he urged every model to see themselves as key stakeholders and ensure they play their part to make it a huge success.

On the grouping of the models, he disclosed that in order to showcase diversity in modeling, different body types will be represented in each group which will be made up of 50 models. This, he retorted, will leave the audience delighted for a long time.

The convener reiterated that while plans were underway in hosting six other countries and over forty thousand live audience, more sponsorship and partnership are welcomed.

He specially appreciated Amb. Greg Ozuomba Mbadiwe (MFR), the chairman of King Celias Hotel, for making the facility available.
