While noting that the deliberations today was not exhaustive, Okoye said the Commission will continue the meeting tomorrow and avail the general public the outcome and decisions taken on Monday, 27th of May.

It would be recalled that earlier today, the supreme court in a unanimous judgment by a five-man panel headed by the Ag. Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, ruled that the All Progressives Congress did not conduct a valid primaries preparatory to the 2019 elections and as a result declared all votes garnered by the party in all elections in the state as “wasted votes”. The apex court thereafter declared all candidates who scored second highest votes in the elections, and who attained the required vote spread, as validly elected.
