The National Leader of Pan Yoruba Socio- Political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has lamented the excesses of Fulani herdsmen, whom he said are occupying people’s farmlands, scaring them and destroying their crops.
Pa Fasoranti’s daughter, Mrs Funke Olakunrin, was killed on Friday by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen on the Kajola-Ore road, Ondo State.
The Afenifere leader who was in tears, made the disclosure in Yoruba when the former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel paid him a condolence visit yesterday.
He said: “May God continue to protect us because we are at war. When we go to the farm we meet them (herdsmen) there; that even scares us. We cannot go to our fathers’ land again.
“If we plant crops, they (herdsmen) won’t allow it be. So we must continue to pray and may God continue to answer our prayers.”
