As part of the Eid El-Kabir celebration, President Muhammadu Buhari hosted community leaders from the five local government areas under Daura Emirate, in Katsina yesterday.
One of the community leaders, Mohammed Saleh, complained about irregular power supply in Daura, which according to him, is enjoyed for 24 hours only when the President is around.
He said, “Anytime the President is around we enjoy 24 hours power supply. But if he is not around, the power supply is not always stable.”
Mr Saleh also decried the high rate of car theft and other vices in the area which he attributed to unemployment.
He however commended the President for signing a bill to establish a Federal Polytechnic in Daura, to encourage the youth attain higher education.
President Buhari, in his remarks, assured the leaders that his second term in office would be utilized in improving the lives of Nigerians by paying close attention to the poor.
“Truly, the people know and understand my mission. This is what the votes showed. The administration will dwell on our campaign issues — security, economy and corruption. We will fight for the poor”, the President assured.
