Nigeria’s Minister of State for Youth Development, Engr. Ayodele Olawande, has urged young Nigerians to capitalize on the forthcoming programs and initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, emphasizing that the ministry’s primary objective is to create and provide opportunities for the growth, development, and empowerment of young people in the country.
At the Youth Opportunity Summit in Kaduna, organized by Hauwa Liman, Technical Assistant to the Vice President on Women and Youth Engagement, the Minister emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities and embracing lifelong learning to a packed audience comprising mainly students and corps members. He stressed that these traits are essential for personal growth and success.
“As youth, we need to open our minds and use the power of internet and the new media at our disposal to seek out opportunities. At the ministry, there are training, development, and funding opportunities available, including the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA) and a host others.”
“The good news is that you don’t need any godfather under this government to access these opportunities. Don’t join those shouting ‘na lie’, because you only need to seek information and be guided on how to take advantage of the many opportunities the government is presenting to young people,” the Minister submitted.
