The legislator representing Ilesha/Gwanara constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Saliu Danladi, has been elected Speaker of the ninth Kwara State House of Assembly.
The 34-year-old legislator, who is a first timer in the Assembly, was nominated by Saheed Popoola (the only returning member in the Assembly), and seconded by Haliru Danbaba.
Mr Yakubu Danladi was unanimously adopted by all the members of the Assembly.
His emergence comes one day after Abok Ayuba, a 33-year-old final year Law student of the University of Jos, emerged as Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, and Debo Ogundoyin, 32-year-old lawmaker from Ibarapa East Constituency, was also elected speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
