Buhari never forgives, Omokri says, as he exposes why Oyo-Ita was suspended

By David Olalekan.

A former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has explained why President Muhammadu Buhari indefinitely suspended the Head of Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita.

INSIDER had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had finally eased out the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs.Winifred Oyo-Ita, replacing her with Dr. Mrs. Folashade Yemi-Esan in Acting capacity with immediate effect.

In his reaction, Omokri who took to his Twitter page alleged that Oyo-Ita was suspended for exposing President Buhari for facilitating the recall of the former chairman of the defunct Pension Reforms Commission, Abdulrasheed Maina.

He wrote, “The only reason this woman has been sacked is because General Buhari never forgives.

“He had pencilled her for disgrace since the day her memo exposing Buhari as the man behind the recall and promotion of pension thief Maina, leaked.”

It would be recalled that Oyo-Ita had, on October 23, 2017, stated in her memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, that she warned Buhari against reinstating Abdulrasheed Maina who was on the run at the time for corruption charges into the civil service.

She noted that her warning was reliant upon the implications such reinstatement would have on the anti-corruption war of the president.

Meanwhile, Nigerians on social media have reacted to Oyo-Ita’s suspension.

INSIDER gathered some comments:

@Trufully83

When they need you, they use you. When they are done with you, they dispose of you. A lesson to all the blind followers and cronies of @MBuhari and his AsoRock cabals from the south. If they want you out, they must give the dog a bad name to justify hanging him.

@WaleolaN

Oyo ita wanted to resign but this man obviously wanted to be the one to sack her. If she’s guilty of the crime she’s been accused, then she deserves everything coming her way. This abuse of office by any form of corrupt act must stop pronto.”

@Camaradean

This nextlevel go reach everybody..na turn by turn.. @Efcc should conclude there investigation on Oyo ita and publish all the fact findings. Because the 600mili naira found in one of her aide akant can’t be swept under the carpet.

@Monsieurblack

Fun fact, EFCC will not publicly investigate any senior public officer unless the powers that be sanctioned by the powers that be.

@Ugochukwuanya

Nothing will come out of this, this is just to justify Onoghen and Oyo Ita.

@Donteewrites

EFCC that did not see Tinubu’s bullion vans want to investigate Winifred Oyo?? Sad stuff.

@adeyanjubiodun

Hopefully, Mrs. Oyo-Ita will have her day in court soon. Hopefully too, this change of guard will herald much anticipated civil service reforms.
