A three-storey building belonging to one Alhaji Rufai Kabiru, collapsed on Monday night, killing the landlord, his pregnant daughter and several others in Delimi Community of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to the Head, Search and Rescue Operations at the North-Central office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Nurudeen Musa, 14 bodies have so far been recovered from the rubble, with four others severely injured.
“As at this afternoon, we recorded 14 deaths and four persons severely injured in the collapsed building,’’ Mr Musa said.
He also disclosed that the injured were currently receiving treatment at the Plateau Specialist Hospital and Bingham University Teaching Hospital.
Rescue operations are still ongoing at the scene of the incident.
