Kwara Speaker visits Emir of Ilorin for ‘Royal Blessing’

The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, today, led his colleagues to the palace of the Emir of Ilorin for royal blessing and collaboration.

Receiving the delegation, the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari, expressed optimism that the youthfulness of the Speaker would translate to outstanding performance, adding that Hon. Danladi is the first Speaker in the state to visit the palace with his colleagues for royal blessing.

The Speaker, condoled with the Emir over the death of his mother, while soliciting the support of the traditional institution to enable the 9th Assembly achieve success in its targets and objectives.

“We have come for royal blessing, understanding the spiritual significance of the highly revered traditional institution. I appeal for cooperation between the traditional institution and the 9th assembly.

“We want to enlist the support of all stakeholders, towards ensuring we change the narratives of our dear State and its people, it is a must we restore the lost glory of Kwara”, Danladi said.

The Emir, in his reaction, acknowledged the significance of their visit, reiterating his confidence in the 9th Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Danladi to accomplish landmark achievements.

“I am sure you all know what is on ground, Kwara have never had this kind of young person as a Speaker but it is not how far but how well. I believe his young age will translate to outstanding performance, not how far but how well”, the Emir said.
