Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has announced first sets of appointments. The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary (Political Affairs and Special Services), Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Ishaq, a copy of which was sighted by INSIDER.

The new appointees, nine in number, include Mr. John Mamman, SSA on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Mr. Samuel Egya, SSA Governor’s Office; Mr. Yakubu Kwanta, SSA Youth Affairs and NGOs; Mr. Murtala Alhassan Lamus, SSA Special Duties; Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, SSA Investment and Economic Planning.

Others are: Mr. Thomas James, SSA Liaison Office Abuja; Mrs. Rakiya Alaku, SSA Women Affairs and Empowerment; Mr. Salihu Isyaka Ogah, SSA Deputy Governor’s Office; and Abubakar Iman Zanwa, SSA Legal Matters.

The statement, which said the appointments take immediate effect, also clarified the governor’s position on the festering issue of the choice of first lady amongst the governor’s three wives.

There had been widespread speculation that the governor’s third wife would be the First Lady of the state. However, the statement said Governor Sule has decided that “his first wife is the officially recognised First Lady of the State.”
