Former President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, in the spirit of charity during the holy month of Ramadan, has commenced the distribution of food items to Imams and Islamic scholars in Kwara as a welfare package.
The beneficiaries of the annual distribution exercise, according to his Press Officer on Home Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, include Imams and prominent Islamic scholars in Kwara state.
During the distribution exercise, Saraki urged all Muslims to take good advantage of the Holy month to move closer to Allah by indulging in activities that will purify and increase their spiritual lives.
He also appreciated the religious leaders for their sermons and counseling, especially their prayers for Allah to give the country good leadership and make the society a better one.
The Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate called for more prayers for the country to achieve peaceful and harmonious coexistence among the citizens and residents. He further appreciated the support of the religious leaders for their guidance and support.
He charged them to continue to provide necessary guidance and prayers as the nation strives to achieve development, unity, and prosperity.
